• Training on Fire fighting, Earthquake and First Aid



    Periodical training session on Fire fighting, earthquake and First Aid was held at Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited’s factory premises on 11th June 2015.


    Arranged by the LR and Administration department, the session was conducted by officials from Fire Service department and was attended by selected employees from various departments. The trainers provided lessons and guidelines on fire fighting, rescue operations, earthquake and essential First Aid at this audio visual session. They also provided practical lessons by creating simulated situations, and the employees participated cheerfully. Factory LR and Administration department periodically conducts similar training sessions to be prepared for unusual situations.



  • New Automatic machineries proposition for 200 ml cans

    The management of Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited has decided to enhance capacity for production of 200 ml cans and baby food cans.


    The board of the directors has already approved the proposal for the purchase of new machineries for 200 ml pack size. Import of these machineries is on the process, and production on these new lines will expectedly be started by August 2015. Once the production starts, J&N’s capacity to manufacture 200 ml cans will be increased drastically. Since these automatic machineries is going to be purchased keeping food grade can production in mind, J&N’s capacity to manufacture food grade cans (milk powder, baby foods) will also improve.



  • Implementation of Integrated Management System Started



    Implementation of Integrated Management System (Quality, Environment, Occupational Health Safety and Food Safety standards) at Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited has been started from April 2015.


    J&N is a pioneer in the fields of metal can manufacturing and metal sheet printing. Currently J&N manufactures industrial grade cans for the largest paint manufacturer; and food grade containers for leading food producers of Bangladesh. Though J&N maintains standards to offer quality products to its valued customers, the management has decided to go for formal quality certifications.


    Under the Integrated Management System, the company will adopt standards from ISO (ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001:2007) and FSSC (ISO 22000, ISO/TS 22002-4). ISO certifications will ensure J&N’s adherence to the best standards of Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environment management (ISO 14001), and Occupational health and safety management (ISO 180001). On top of these standards, J&N will adopt standards from Food Safety Systems Certifications (FSSC) i.e. ISO 22000 for food safety management systems, and ISO 2002-part 4 for prerequisites for food packaging industries. In this connection intense activities have been started in multiple forms i.e. training, auditing, gap analysis, SOP preparations, hazard identifications and controlling, facility enhancements.   • SAP Go-Live! Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) adopted ERP



    Jenson & Nicholson (Bangladesh) Limited has adopted best in class ERP system - SAP; the system is on Go Live from 1st September 2014. Thus the company has become the first packaging company of Bangladesh that is using SAP. In this connection it is mentionable that Berger’s IT Department showed a great endeavor by managing the implementation project of SAP using Berger’s internal resources, and without investing in third party consultants. Berger’s technical and functional team along with J&N process owners have been working hard with on this mission critical project from March 2014. Finally all hard work proved fruitful with the Go Live on scheduled time.


    Mr. Abu Nader Al Mokaddes, General Manager – IT has launched the session by logging in the system. Among the other employees of Berger and J&N, Mr. Mahbubul Haque, Project Manager and Mr. Muhammad Sajjad Hasan, Production Manager- J&N was present in the session. The session was followed by a cheerful team buffet dinner at Peninsula Hotel Chittagong.


    With this implementation, J&N’s top management showed again its thirst for maintaining quality and excellence which differs the company over its competitors.
